St Boniface's College is a Roman Catholic Christian Community. Marine Academy Plymouth is the UK's first Marine Academy; it's a state-funded specialist secondary school with three sponsors who are the Plymouth University, Cornwall College and Plymouth CityCouncil. It's now an all-through school incorporating a nursery, primary school, secondary school and Sixth Form. Plymouth evolved as a city because of the sea, and its future prosperity depends on it and this is why the very first 'marine' academy has been opened here.
The University of Plymouth is the 9th largest University in the United Kingdom by total number of students (including the Open University). It has over 30,000 students, almost 3,000 staff and wasfounded in 1992 from Polytechnic South West (formerly Plymouth Polytechnic). It has courses in maritime business, marine engineering, marine biology and Earth, ocean and environmental sciences, surf science, shipping and logistics.

At College Road we take a flexible and creative approach to learning. We have designed a skills-based, exciting curriculum which has learning at its' heart, centred on the Building Learning Powersinitiative developed by Guy Claxton. Julie made the move from a career in Personnel Management and Training to begin her counselling training in 2000. She now works in a series of different roles both in her own Private Practice, acounselling agency and with local businesses and charities where she supervises individuals and groups.
