Opened in September 1912 as The County School, Whitby, the College began life as a co-educational grammar school, with about 300 pupils. In 1972, it received its first comprehensive intake and a newname - Whitby School. At this time, students also began to transfer at age 14, rather than age 11 as in the past. In 1993, we became Whitby Community College.

Trinity Catholic College, formed September 2009, is the amalgamation of two of the area's long established schools;Newlands FCJ Specialist Maths and Computing School and St David's Roman CatholicTechnology College. Each of these is a completetraining equipping you to become a confident and competent practitioner with the skills you need to run your own practice. On the BSc in Acupuncture applicants who do not already have a degree are usually eligible for student loans.
